Well, at work I wore an "I am not a serial killer" button. Does that count?

The best costume I saw at work was pretty simple: a woman dressed as a JIRA ticket. Just a big paper form with various fields filled out. The part that made me laugh though was the comment section: "Nate I want my new landing page dammit!" Parading it around at work for Nate's benefit.

Well, I'm hoping to see a lot of little witches with GOP buttons on their hats.

I saw a lot of Mario Brothers characters, elmos, dinosaurs and giraffes.

My favorite moment though was a dialog between two young children. One was 2-3 and the other was about 5.

Little one: See Mommy. I told you Elmo wasn't that tall. This is the real Elmo. Can I hug him?

I'm guessing they went to Sesame Place and the little one got freaked out by a six foot tall Elmo. Anyway, the mother of the kid dressed as Elmo said ok and the two kids hugged. So cute. And it made the little one's day!

Are you doing this at home? I didn't realize apartment buildings get trick or treaters. Mine doesn't. Which is why I have to go outside to see them.

My building has a party in the lobby every year. Then they go trick or treating in the building.... so I generally get a huge wave just after the party, followed by a steady stream for a few hours after.

On top of that, the building is getting more and more kids every year. They are also inviting friends over for the party too. Next year, I may have to get more candy.

Halloween is an American thing, but here in the Netherlands more and more people start to celebrate it too.

To my surprise, my neighbourhood, where you hardly ever see people on the streets, was full of witches and zombies this weekend!

Halloween is an American thing

- The commercialisation is all American, but is an old Celtic (summer's end) festival. Good excuse to party!!
