Are there any certificaitons available for Hibernate?
For JPA, there is Sun/Oracle JPA Certification but it involves EJB.

I have exactly the same question... so I will answer with what I think about it.

Since JPA is from Sun/Oracle I doubt there will ever be an EJB-less, JPA-only certification. If there was a Hibernate certification, I bet you'd get many proprietary topics in there that would outweigh the EJB stuff. So, it's probably acceptable to have the EJB stuff in there, even if you use another framework to do the business logic. I'm using Seam to get past the manual EJB stuff, but my guess is you can't avoid it for the certification.

Probably other than SUN/Oracle some other clients would be giving Hibernate Cert which we are not aware of?
From Hibernate/JBoss itself?

Thanks,
Krina

Of course Hibernate certifications would come from JBoss only, but I haven't heard of anything like this. However Hibernate itself has so many wrinkles and JPA things that aren't working, so I believe such a certification would be very risky to offer.

In any case I'd go for the JPA and EJB exam. It's the best compromise IMO.

I rather wonder how to prepare for this exam because it's so new...

Hello Folks, There is certification from Oracle for JPA which does not include EJB. The name is Java EE 6 Java Persistence API Developer Certified Expert Exam and here is link http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=5001&get_params=p_exam_id:1Z0-898&p_org_id=&lang=. Also one more certification for JPA and Hibernate is available from Radhat, check the below link http://www.redhat.com/certification/jbcd_persistence/.
