I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to simply implement my JAVA code which is a GUI that calls events onto an active webpage.

I have a class project that I would like to present on an HTML webpage. Is this possible?

You might want to try using Applets.

"Onto an active webpage" I think this is only possible with Ajax but NOT from Java.
But, if you want such from Java then think of Applet

It is possible. Applets can access both the page DOM and Javascript methods on the web page they're on. The terms to search for are "Common DOM API" and "LiveConnect", respectively.

Lester Burnham thanks for correction I confirmed it.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
