Playing IE transitions using javascript/css

Hi
Im very new to transitions. I need to implement this for one of my projects. I found an example code

id of div matches with css id and then the same id is used in the javascript to apply transition. In my requirement i could have 1-10 divs .I want the same transition to be applied to all of these div tags.how do i do that? Meaning I will have

<div id="mytext0">JavaScript kit</div>
<div id="mytext1">JavaScript kit</div>
<div id="mytext2">JavaScript kit</div>
<div id="mytext3">JavaScript kit</div>
<div id="mytext4">JavaScript kit</div>

I tried to do the following

<div id="mytext" class="myText">JavaScript kit</div>
And in my javscript tried to do this

 var mytext=document.getElementById("mytext" +i) //where i could be a 0-10
 mytext.style.visibility="hidden"
 if (mytext.filters && mytext.filters.length>0) //if filters[] collection is defined (only in IE)
  mytext.filters[0].apply()
 mytext.style.visibility="visible"
 if (mytext.filters && mytext.filters.length>0)
  mytext.filters[0].play()
}
But i get a an error. Am i doing something wrong or how could I do it?

And what is i?

var mytext=document.getElementById("mytext" +i)  <-- i is not defined here
