file name matters ?

I write a java code to parse some comma separated file. If I name the input file as "xx.txt" or "xxx.csv" it works fine. What if I name is as "xxx.txt-some-weird-ending-name", does it matter ? I tried it seems fine but I want to know if there is any fundamental issue with it.

No, what the filename or file extension is does not matter, only the content of the file matters. You can call the file anything you like (with any extension you like).
