What is the difference between Cloud Computing and Virtualization?

Cloud computing is a client/server setup where you have a thin client attached to a server containing applications.

Virtualization is running a number of "computers" on a single computer. This can be done to save resources (many virtual servers on a single box) or to have multiple operating systems on a single system running at the same time.

BTW, what makes this a Java question?

It's not, but it is related to this weeks' book promotion.

Cloud computing is not a client/server setup. And Cloud computing uses Virtualization. So when you go in for IaaS- You never really know if you are using Virtual nodes. Its just that you request for hardware with specific requirements and you are provided with the required hardware and you dont care how its being managed or provided.
