How ActiveMQ is different from FUSE Message Broker in terms of performance, ease of use etc ? If Active MQ/FUSE gives best performance then why we need commercial messsage brokers TIBCO / IBM MQ ? I guess 80% of Financial applications are using TIBCO.

Hi there!
Fuse Message Broker is the FuseSource distribution of Apache ActiveMQ. Its exactly the same code, same Apache licence - built by the same team who provide the majority of the development effort on the Apache project. It can't be called ActiveMQ - only releases from Apache can be called that - and FuseSource does its own releases so it can provide professional subscriptions around ActiveMQ. Releases from Apache are driven by the community, so doing a patch release for example isn't deterministic - and will require at least 72 hours to pass a vote. To provide hotfixes and enhancements to enterprises, FuseSource decided it was best to control their own release cycle - hence the separate distribution. However, all enhancements fixes are always pushed into Apache ActiveMQ first.
Do we still need Tibco/IBM MQ ? - Well thats not for me to say. However, there is a growing trend to move away from commercial messaging products and move towards open source for general messaging applications.
