I want to learn Web Services and cannot find simple examples. Does anyone have any good tutorials or books that can help me from the ground up ?

Kind Regards

It will be much easier to start with RESTful style services - visit the Jersey site for tutorials and examples.

Experience with servlets will be a big help.
