Generics Error

Hi, This is from whizlabs. Please let me know why I am getting following errors.

class Test {
    public <T extends Comparable> T findLarger(T x, T y) {
	if (x.compareTo(y) > 0) {
	    return x;
	} else {
	    return y;
	}
    }
}

class Question41_Generics_Ask {
    public static void main(String... args) {
	Test t = new Test();
	Object x = t.findLarger(123, "456");
	// Type mismatch: cannot convert from Number&Comparable<?> to int..What does it mean ??
	int x1 = t.findLarger(123, new Double(456));
	int x2 = t.findLarger(123, new Integer(456));
	// Cannot cast from Double to int.What does it mean ??
	int x3 = (int) t.findLarger(new Double(123), new Double(456));
    }
}

    int x1 = t.findLarger(123, new Double(456));   //T here is Number
    int x2 = t.findLarger(123, new Integer(456));   //T here is Integer
    int x3 = (int) t.findLarger(new Double(123), new Double(456));  //T here is Double

Please cross check the return also.. its always a T, so needs to be handled that way e.g int x3 can be changed to Double x3.

Just use various permutations on return type and argument type, and analyse the issue. Hope that helps
