I get that Jenny will automatically write code that handles the details of database connections and accessing the dat stored in the tables therein, but I don't quite get how to use it. At one point, I did something using Jenny, because there is a directory in my development directory named test that has four Jenny-generated class files in it. How they got there, I have no recollection. ( Perhaps I should consider running for congress. I'm obviously a natural. ) To start Jenny, the directions state that one should type the following at the command prompt: java com.javaranch.db.Jenny db.properties When I do this, I get the following gripe: ( from the JVM? )
C:\java\videos>java com.javaranch.db.Jenny videos.properties Exception in thread "main" java.io.FileNotFoundException: videos.properties (The system cannot find the file specified) at java.io.FileInputStream.open(Native Method) at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(FileInputStream.java:106) at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(FileInputStream.java:66) at com.javaranch.db.Jenny.main(Unknown Source)
Now, I'm pretty sure that this is because there is no main() in videos.properties. But there's not supposed to be. I'm sure that I just don't have the directories set up like they should be. For example, there is no com.javaranch.db directory tree in C:\java or C:\java\videos. Could someone explain with great detail how to set up Jenny, and how to invoke her powers? 'Cause I'm chasing my tail here, and I'm getting dizzy.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to update that page, Carol.

Thanks Marilyn! I took the week off from work, just to detox from a rather noxious work environment, and have been putting my free time to good use by trying to get back into the swing of things here at the ranch. Will be on the lookout for the update.
