I am a j2ee developer with 7+ years of experience. I have covered a couple of technologies from j2ee stack. In the coming year I would be planning to take up scea exam i.e. to say that I would be working on enhancing my j2ee skills and continously keep learning.

I wanted to know if I can aquire additional skillset along with being java/j2ee architect that would keep me in good stand, during markets swings. What are the different kind of options that are open for me as far as acquiring new skillset is concerned, so that it would help me along with my java/j2ee knowledge and help me grow in my career.

Learning how to program for the mobile is becoming absolutely important, so Android is your best option.
Also, learn Scala programming language and Akka framework.
