sorry to say , but there are no shortcuts to learn , but i would suggest you to do some small examples on JDBC with Roseindia or similar sites . and then if you have any queries , you can freely post them and as usual people here are always ready to help (Thanks to Code Ranch Creator or CEO for this )

Also, why JDBC 3? JDBC 4 has been out a long time.
