swing.noxp equivalent for non-XP windows?

Hello all... Currently my swing application runs in Windows XP with the "swing.noxp=true" option. So, the default XP LAF is overridden by the Classic Windows LAF and all works well..

I need to port my application to Windows 7 and this is where the problem begins. Is there an option like.. "swing.nowin7" such that I can get the classic windows LAF in Windows 7 environment. When I attempt to use the "swing.noxp=true" property in Windows 7, I "almost" get the classic look except for badly looking JInternalFrame icons and a standard issue of components at the corners of the screen appearing shrunk in all the screens of the application.

My JRE version is 1.5.0_22. Any suggestions and pointers are most welcome.

My first suggestion is to upgrade to Java 6, if possible.

Migrating to Java 6 is not in the cards since this is a legacy application and customer expects support in JRE 5.

Anybody who has faced a similar issue with look and feel or someone who has worked with java 5 in Windows 7, please suggest some pointers on what can be done. Currently, I am clueless.

i am also facing exactly same problem on windows 7 with java 1.6.0_16 So, even java 1.6 mogration coun't solve this problem.

i have tried applying different look and feels through code. Only classic laf solved color problems but with this i got Jinternal frame close button shrinking problem as mentioned by Jeevankumar.

@Jeevankumar: Where to set the property "swing.noxp=true". in command line ? how ?

can any one help on this ???

Thanks in Advance !!!
