I'm a bit stuck here, I run the installer for Java 6 JDK, and it says it competes the download (I then proceed to register the software), yet I cannot find any file that it downloaded. Has anyone had this issue?

Got it from this site, the one on the far left. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

Where do you have your browser configured to store downloads?

What browser are you using? I have firefox. after clicking the one 'on the far left', it asked if i wanted to save it, then saved it to where my browser is configured to save it.

It's possible IE (if i recall correctly) gives you the option to run it, which may simply store in in some temp dir and then fires it off, and will then delete it once the executable exits...

other browsers may behave differently.

So, here did you save the download? Have you downloaded it again and saved it?

So where did you install Java™? What sort of error messages are you receiving?

Don't know. Let's have some more details, please. That includes:
  • Which operating system are you using?
  • What is the name (including extension) of the downloaded file?
  • Do you have administrator rights, or "su" access, or root access, or "sudo" rights?
  • I shall be offline soon, but there are other people who are able to help.

I agree. Here's the link: http://zeroturnaround.com/jrebel - it saves me about five hours per week
