I have a situation where the user hits a button a window pops-up with yes/no/cancel buttons.
Depending on the button clicked i want to submit the form of the parent page.
I think I can do this with the <html:form target="windowOpener"
but could not get it to work.

any ideas on how to do this

thanks

you need to use javascript and call 'opener.document.FormNameInParentWindow.submit()' to submit. here's an example that sets values from child window, instead of setting values, you just need to call submit() - http://www.rgagnon.com/jsdetails/js-0066.html.
