This would appear to be a question about Struts. So I really think it would be better off in our forum which is about Struts. So I'm going to move it there.

Struts is an implementation of a Front Controller pattern. It doesn't have much to do with back-end tasks like interfacing with a database. If you are using Struts 1.x, here is the relevant chapter in the documentation. If you are using Struts 2.x, there's a plugin available, but that's by no means the only way to integrate Hibernate.
