Access Files within the Network

Hello All,
In our Organization all Our systems are connected in a Network .
Assume that i have some HTML Page in my C drive with path

C:\Practice\Om.html

Is it possible taht i can access this HtML Page from another System within the network .

(This is not a web application and not running in any server . )

Sure, it's possible.

I know you're going to ask how, so I will just suggest the most obvious alternative: create a share on the C:\Practice directory and have the other machines map a drive to that share.

My question can he access by typing :

http://myhostName/C:/Practice/Om.html on to the browser ??

No, using the html: protocol assumes that you are running a web server on the host. Instead, each user mujst connect to that share and then access the file using the file: protocol. For example, assuming the the directory c:\Practice on host MainHost is shared as the share name Stuff, and that a user connected to \\MainHost\Stuff as drive E:, the the user would enter file:///c:/Om.html in the browser. You could also enter file://MainHost/Stuff/Om.html

Surely, it would have been quicker to try it out than asking on the forums and waiting for an answer?
