Calling a WS from a servlet isn't different than calling a WS from any other Java code. To make things easier, start by creating a standalone client (i.e., a desktop application).

Hi!
Take a look at the NetBeans tutorials: http://netbeans.org/kb/index.html
There are, for instance, web service tutorials, tutorials showing how to interact with databases etc.
Best wishes!

can i connect to a database using webservice

A web service connects an HTTP client and an HTTP server (the service), not a DB. The service is of course free to connect to a DB, but that's no different than any other kind of Java code connecting to a DB.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
