Hi Everyone!

Well if I said that I wasn't scared I would be Lying ......I have completed all chapters almost Twice each From the SCJP 6 Kathy&Bert Study Book!......I only have the Generics and Development Chapters Left.......Every time I complete a chapter I Would always Answer all the End chapter questions and then Go straight to the JavaChamp.com website and Complete the Chapter-wize Questions!.......Sometimes I would do them twice or 3 times!

I have Programmed C# before in my Computer Science Under Graduate Degree...yet this was still pretty hard!.........I will start doing Full mock Exams on the 10 or 11 of Jan.......Until the day of the exam!

I need to know that what Iv done so far is good??.......Should I have studied more.....What do you guys advise me to do next??.....Am I on the right track?

Note: Everytime I did a Chapter-wize exam on JavaChamp.com I would always get at Least %50 Like 9/16 questions right?.........But I would always do them again.....Please tell me what do you think?

Thanks!

There are some free mocks you can try, like Devaka's simulator. There are listed here. You might also be interested to buy a copy of the new OCP Java SE 6 Programmer Practice Exams, which is being promoted this week in the SCJP forum.

Hello Khoder,

I guess you've studied a lot as far as the reading is concerned.
The point is how much you've retained and how much of the concepts you've developed.
As you've said... (Or so I believe you did...) Even after 2-3 times of reading you are still getting around 50% in mock questions...
then I believe either the questions are too difficult or there is some serious problem with your concept building (No offense intended)

Also, there is no point in doing the same questions again and again... you must do them once you are fully confident about the topic and should try to look for some new questions every time...

hope it helps...

Hi Anupam Jain

Thanks for the Advice.......Non Taken ..........But I would like to inform you that I got %50 - %60 depending on the Chapter sometimes more.... but that is after reading the Chapter once....When I noticed that I was getting an average Score that's when I went to read the Same Chapter again!

Khoder make sure you don't give the same mock exam over and over again. Doing so will increase your score drastically as you might remember some of the answers...

All the best Khoder Wassouf.

Just keep doing mock and pay attention on the review or explanation part. this really helps to score better.

Hello Khoder,

My first advice to you is, don't get discouraged. You still have time. Every person among us has different level
of understanding and they take their own time learning. You still have two weeks mate, still a lot of time to go.
I would suggest if you can purchase a copy of Enthuware simulator and then slowly try solving the exam. Don't
do many questions in a go, it won't help you. Slowly move forward. If you dont understand a question, pause the
exam, study the concept and then revisit the question. It will slowly improve your scores. Once you are done with
them, go through Devaka Exam Simulator, the tougher battle.

Hope this helps,

My experience:

I purchased a voucher good for one year, yet a month before it was set to expire, I felt that I could not study any further. In other words, waiting another month would make absolutely no difference.

When I took the exam, I was really nervous, and even the testing center was trying to reassure me.

As I went though the questions, I was praying, and kept telling myself that I did my best and that God is on my side.

At the very end, I didn't think I had passed, but I told myself that God has a plan for all of us and it is not the end of the world.

Lo and Behold, I passed! The testing center folks said, "If you know it, you know it"

Few weeks later I found out that 90% of the people who take OCPJP exam at that particular test center FAIL. I was the 10%...

Have you tried summarize the study book so that you can understand and remember the content better?

I know that may sound silly, redundant, but for me, it always work. It helps me memorize and, more importantly, understand the concept (even just theoretically) better. Besides, you get to prepare the material in your own writing style, which you may find easier to read.

Of course, having practical experience by actually trying out what you read is very beneficial to your understanding.

Hello,

I guess Enthuware and ExamLab should be sufficient.

Hello Khoder,

Thank you, I'm glad I made you feel a bit better. :-)

Actually, I work full-time and care for my family. Had to squeeze in study time during lunch breaks and weekends during early morning.

Questions for each Test Center should be similar, it is up to Oracle.

After completing the test, I did notice that I was lagging in threads and inner classes.

I purchased Enthuware mock exams, and Oracle's practice exams - to me, the actual exam was somewhere in between, in terms of difficulty.

I've done all the mock exams once, and the Q&A that came with Enthuware 2 or 3 times - each individual is different.

Cheers!
