i wish to find a ready-made java/jsp solution to convert a document(any type) into pdf file format

By the way, your requirement is ridiculous. No program can handle any type of file, mostly because there are so many file types around. I can even create a complete new one if I choose to. You should focus on a select group, starting with the usual: plain text, HTML, images, Office, Open Office. I believe that OpenOffice.org can handle most (if not all) of these. Check out how to run OOo in server mode.

The JODConverter library makes this process a lot easier.
