Problem in setting up height in PDF Header using Itext

hi Guys,

I have a requirement in which header height needs to be set dynamically at runtime using Itext .
Here's the code i am using for setting up the height

public class MyClass extends PdfPageEventHelper
{
public void onStartPage(PdfWriter writer, Document document) {
		try {

			Rectangle page = document.getPageSize();

			PdfPCell imageCell = null;
			PdfPCell textCell = null;

			PdfPTable head = new PdfPTable(2);
			head.getDefaultCell().setBorder(Rectangle.RECTANGLE);

			Image headImage = Image.getInstance("GetImagePath");
			imageCell = new PdfPCell(headImage);
			head.addCell(imageCell);

			textCell = new PdfPCell(new Phrase("My Header"));
			head.addCell(textCell);

			head.setTotalWidth(page.getWidth() - document.leftMargin()
					- document.rightMargin());

			head.writeSelectedRows(0, -1, document.leftMargin(), page
					.getHeight()
					- document.topMargin() + head.getTotalHeight(), writer
					.getDirectContent());

		} catch (Exception e) {
			throw new ExceptionConverter(e);
		}
	}

}

I have tried using

imageCell .setFixedHeight(runtimeValue);
textCell.setFixedHeight(runtimeValue);

and

head.getDefaultCell().setFixedHeight(runtimeValue)

but this doesn't seems to work properly when i am considering worst case scenerio where the height as much as 50% of document can be set at runtime

I am new to Itext and any help/suggestion to achieve this functionality will be appreciated.
