It seems that Lohri and Pongal occur around the same time and are Winter Festivals celebrated in India.
Are any of you celebrating these? Would love to hear of your experiences.

Nothing surprising there, as these are based on the solar calendar.

Well shoot, I came in here hoping to find an Indian version of Lena and Ole jokes. Oh, well, at least I learned something.
Sankranti sounds so much like Songkran, the Thai new year, that I went to Wikipedia and found that, yes, they are the same thing. (Though the Thai festival is in April for some reason.) It's a small world!
