ArrayList in jsp using JSTL and springs

Hi,

I am very new to spring and I was wondering if anyone could help me
I currently have an array list in the controller class as shown below:

public ModelAndView viewMapTool(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse resp)throws Exception{

if(contractName!=null){
		req.getSession().setAttribute("CONRTACT_NAME", contractName);
		deviceList=loadDevices(contractName);
		}
ModelAndView mav=new ModelAndView();
		mav.addObject("deviceList", deviceList);
        mav.setViewName("mapToolInformation");
	    return mav;
	}
}



private ArrayList<String> loadDevices(String contractName){
		System.err.println("DashboardController in loadDevices");

		ArrayList<String> deviceList=new ArrayList<String>();
		String filePrefix=dbProps.getFilePrefix();
		TreeMap<String, String> fileMap= currPerspective.getFiles();
		 String filePath=null;
		 if(contractName!=null){
         filePath=fileMap.get(contractName);
		}
		try{
			System.out.println("value of filePrefix is :::"+filePrefix);
			FileInputStream fstream = new FileInputStream(filePrefix+filePath);
		    // Get the object of DataInputStream
		    DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream(fstream);
		        BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in));

In the jsp i currently have

                    <c:forEach items='${deviceList}' var='deviceList'>
                               <option value="<c:out value='${deviceList}'/>"<c:if test='${deviceList.value==deviceList}'>selected="selected"</c:if> >
					<c:out value='${deviceList}'/>
				</option>
		     </c:forEach>

		</select>

in jsp i am using some if condition to select the value in the drop down list.but its going to the last one in the list.
could any body help how can i write <c:if condition in the above jsp.
