On 7th of January I got my result, a simple email telling that I passed and my certification is on the way! I was pretty happy with such a quick reply as well, since I was afraid that I will end up waiting 3-4 months for result. Here are my dates:

15th of September 2010 - Registered for assignment
4th of November 2010 - Sat for an essay.
3rd of December 2010 - Submitted my assignment.
7th of January 2011 - Received an email telling I passed.

Thanks a bunch for everyone in this forum who helped me, particularly Roberto Perillo and Roel De Nijs, you guys are great!! Special obrigados to Roberto for his test case which helped me to find a nasty threading bug I used to have in my initial locking mechanism!

Details of my project can be found at http://www.asgarli.net/2011/03/how-i-passed-scjdocmjd.html. And I would also like to discuss essay question here, or is it against Sun/Oracle policies of non-disclosure?

Howdy, Elchin!

Champ, this is great news and I'm very happy for you! Congratulations for the achievement, master!

Special obrigados to Roberto for his test case which helped me to find a nasty threading bug I used to have in my initial locking mechanism!

Beleza! De nada, campeao! (Cool! You are welcome, champion!)

And I would also like to discuss essay question here, or is it against Sun/Oracle policies of non-disclosure?

Well, it is just against the rules to publish the questions here. For instance, if one of the question was "What did you have for breakfast this morning?", then you are not allowed to publish "What did you have for breakfast this morning?" here. But I'd say that if you say "one of the questions was related to my breakfast", then it is ok. One example of this is the question related to the locking mechanism. It was never mentioned here how exactly is this question, but it is known that there is one question related to it in the essay exam.

Thanks a lot! And thanks again for your test case, it really saved me

Beleza I can't believe I understood this without looking at English translation, seems like playing Capoeira for already more than a year taught me some Portuguese

Here I wrote a blog post about my OCMJD experience, finally after long time Can my original post somehow be updated to include this link as well? And please tell me if I described too much about my solution and I breached any of Oracle's terms

Hi Guys.

I am completely new to this OCMJD.. but i want to pursue it.. I am not very familiar with the process.. when i see at the oracle education page..it says that a instructor led classroom training is a mandatory requirement for this certification..and they are really costly..are these training from oracle mandatory ??
is it so guys ??

Can some one guide me with the complete process..about how to go about it in Bangalore(India).. with details of cost of mandatory training..voucher etc guys..?
Any help will be much appreciated..

Yes, they are mandatory since August (if I remember correctly) last year, and you have to follow that to get certified.
