Setting up JAVA_HOME variable in Ubuntu 10.10

Hello
When I start tomcat from the terminal stating sudo sh startup.sh
It gives a message as

Neither the JAVA_HOME nor the JRE_HOME environment variable is defined
At least one of these environment variable is needed to run this program

So how do i set those variables .

Hello

I got the answer.
 
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
