Is it possible to create a validation rule (validation.xml) that will apply a set of other rules to a given form property depending on the value of another form property?

My requriement is like this

I have 62 fields in the form.
There is only one error field among the 62 fields in the form. The error field is determined dynamically while displaying the form to the user.
The web admin is given a chance to correct the error field and submit the form.
Now i need to validate only the error field and not the whole form.
The validations applied to the other fields should be ignored and only the field that is changed should be validated.

i took a hidden variable whose value is equal to the error field property name.
Now i want to apply valid when rule to all the properties in the form.
Please help......
