D:\Program Files\apache\bin>startup.bat
Using CATALINA_BASE: D:\Program Files\apache\
Using CATALINA_HOME: D:\Program Files\apache\
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: D:\Program Files\apache\\temp
Using JRE_HOME: D:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_08
Using CLASSPATH: D:\Program Files\apache\\bin\bootstrap.jar

now(i hav screenshots too but unable to upload)
i typed http://localhost:8080/ in safari browser
following ocurred
Safari can’t connect to the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://localhost:8080/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “localhost”.
tell me the correct suggestion

One possibility is that Tomcat is not actually running. It may have opened another command prompt window, then closed it.

Try with the last executable line in startup.bat modified to use "run" instead of "start":

That will continue execution in the same command prompt window and you can see if it really started.
