Look into ISO 27001, which is the ISO standard for IT security (systems, data, assets, etc.). It should give you pointers on the kind of documents and processes relating to IT security. http://www.iso27001security.com/

Yes I know of ISO27001 and ISO27002, but what I really wanted
was to hear some real life experiences in writing such a doc...
