This morning I cleared the OCPJWCD with 94%
I found the exam harder then the HFSJ final exam looking at the questions,
but since they tell the number of answers , you can start eliminating which helps (I seem to be pretty good at it ;)).
Not everything is in the book or notes I read, there were some questions with stuff I had
no idea about.
There were some errors in the questions , I found 3. One question where all the options were
missing a '=' in the tag, one with the use of a Set without initializing it, and a smaller one where they forgot
to mention if it was about simple of custom tags (which was important for the code snippet)
I told the nice lady at the exam centre and she would pass it through she said.
I started in september, I didn't knew anything about
servlets and web containers etc. I decided
to do it right and go for the certification, and I certainly learned a lot from it! It took me so long because I had a
very serious deadline at work (lukily it was a web project,so I could practise), and studying and working 10h a day just don't go together. So I took a break in december and restarted in january.
I read HFSJ 3 times, and although I had my frustrations, it is still a great book.
The last weeks I read the notes from Fritz and Frederic Esnault and compared them with HF, did some mock exams (be careful with those, there is really
a lot of junk out there! Double check your answers and take nothing for granted.)
I knew I was ready when I did the HF exam and scored 72%
There, I have it now. My wife is probably even more happy that it's over since now I can finally start preparing the baby room
I'd have a beer to celeberate, but since this morning I have a terrible headache (great timing), so it will be a hot chocolat milk for me!
Cheers!
