theme="ajax" behaviour to be clarified

I have a JSP page (A.jsp) in which i have given 3 custom tags (<custom:a) for 3 image display in a ><td>.
On click of each image a pop up should come.

I have defined theme="ajax" in each custom tag.

First of all JSP page is taking a long time to load as it has to load huge data. (But thats ok coz thats application/business problem)
On load of JSP page i am getting this message:

A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?
Yes or No button
If i click on No button the screen loads again and message appears again
If i click on Yes button the execution of script stops.

If i remove theme="ajax" in all 3 custom tags, then this message does not appear and jsp loads.
But then if i click on image icon the pop up is not coming.
Instead each image pop up is loading as a screen.

Please suggest me how to get rid of this IE script message. and display pop up properly.

Here is the Code Chunk of custom class and image tag.
Other 2 are similar with just location and action path differing.

<custom:a cssClass="imgLink"
notifyTopics="errorDescriptionQuery" targets="dialogWindow"
theme="ajax" executeScripts="true" loadingText="Loading...">
<img <br /> border="0" <br /> errorDescription.img.title"/>">

I just tried to replicate the issue, finally I could do that. TO simulate the scenario, I just created useless status bar with dummy javascript method, using some delay in Java code. The java scripts method waits for readystate and surprisingly I see that asynchronous made synchronous. Moreover, I have given more delay to actual get the alert. What does the business do so long anyway, please tune it up by all means. Meanwhile, I shall just try job distribution and polling methodologies using AJAX and see if that helps.

Additionally, need more details why you would need ajax here and what is the data that is required from this ajax call to open the popup?

Hi just read that polling does work. So please read this post and try to implement it in your code similarly. I hope I am on the same page of your understanding or else just send more information. good luck
