Their is many platforms are available today is their need of new platform.

What is your dream platform and which type of platform you wants in future.

I thinks their is need of a platform which is not depends on hardware like computers we can install or use this on any small compuring device which has wide range of functionality and applications. which is not vendor specific.

My friend it sounds like you are talking about Android!
Android is not hardware specific and not limited to cell phones. It runs on laptops, TV's, heads up displays, tablets, and much more. It is even being used on space based sensor platforms for NASA!
I have a lot of opinion on what I would like to see but based on your comments and your needs Android matches what you want. If you look at the Android in Action book we even get into some of these topics in the latter part of the book.

You can't also run Windows 7 or OS X on machines that aren't capable of running them.

Shashank Agarwalg,

Shashank,
Well you can put Android on an iPhone, or a Palm, or a windows 7 phone. Indeed you can put Android on almost anything and people have. What is so different about Android is that it is a platform, including OS, driver plugin architecture, VM, API’s, tooling, and more that is designed to run on resource constrained platforms. So almost any smart phone you can put Android on. A lot of the guys I work with have iPhone’s that they can also switch to Android.

Unfortunately, you can't install on iPhone 4 yet. Also for those Android installs on iPhone, is this dual boot, or the ability to switch between both OSs, or is it once Android is installed you can't run iOS. You would have to restore your phone to iOS. I wouldn't mind a dual boot option, so I can test android apps that I write on my iPhone, but still use my iPhone as an iPhone.
