Noting that Android 2.3 supports SIP, I'm wondering what kind of new applications that enables, or how one might use it to enable new functionality. The SDK has a VoIP sample app, but what else is required - a SIP server, like a Servlet API 3.0 container plus an implementation like SailFin/Mobicents? Just an internet connection and the IP address of the receiving end? If the latter, how would VoIP to another Android (or just SIP-capable) phone work? Pointers to further reading would be great, but for starters, some de-confusion would help :-)
