What do you mean by "present version"? The one being developed? The one that most people use? What?

The present Java SE version is 1.6.0_23, I want to know which Servlet specification, JavaServer Pages Specification and JSTL library to use with it.I intend to do the Web Component Developer Exam, What are the specifications and study guides that I should follow in order to get ready for the exam. The HeadFirst Book that I have, the study guide for the Web component Developer exam uses Java SE 5, Servlet 2.4 specification and the JavaServer Pages 2.0 specification and also the JSTL 1.1. I am confused what specification and study guide that I should follow to sit for the web component developer exam that uses Java SE6

Hi Varuna,

Have a look at the requirements on the following page:
ScwcdLinks

The SCWCD5 exam is about Java EE 1.4 specs
The SCWCD6 exam is about Java EE 6 specs

Regards,
Frits

Howdy.

You can also take a look here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javaee/tech/index.html - it's a list of technologies which are included in Java EE 6.

If this is not enough for you, you can search for particular JSR. Here's an example for the JSP (JSR 245): http://jcp.org/en/jsr/summary?id=245 . Just take a look at the latest specification and you'll know what is the most up-to date version.

Cheers!
