We've been having some discussions about an "advocate" custom title and would like to try an experiment. It's a Web 2.0 like experiment about user engagement.
How can I earn the title of "Clojure forum advocate" or "Securityforum advocate"? Next week we have two book promos - one on Clojure and a special guest from OWASP in the Security forum.
Add links to the forum and/or promo - twitter/reddit/etc.
Create a Clojure or Security FAQ page
Share it in whatever way you think appropriate.
Bonus points for
adding more ideas in this thread or providing feedback on the idea in general
linking to the ranch in general
upvoting on the social networking sites listed on the bottom of coderanch.com
Then post in this thread what you did. At the end of the promo, we will be picking someone to get each of these titles.
Thanks to the Java User Groups for giving us this idea.
Note: Since this is an experiment, we don't know all the details yet. The custom title likely isn't permanent, but we don't know how long it will last. Also, if you object to the word "advocate", feel free to suggest another.
May I suggest to change the subtitle of Clojure forum from "Another language for the JVM" to something like:
Alien Technology for the JVM, Lisp for the rest of us, Bringing back parentheses to the JVM, (cons 'Ask (list 'Clojurians))
