Hi all,
One of my client is using UNIX workstation, and has MS Office 2003, He is creating a .xls file and uploading it successfully on a web application.
When he is downloading the uploaded file, its not showing contents, its corrupted. What can be the reason?
We can see the same file with its contents when we do same process in Windows XP machine.
What can be the reason? The only difference is OS. Tried many Recovery softwares.
Please let me know.
Thanks
Seema

Are you able to download a file he uploaded (and vice-versa: you upload a file that he downloads). Just to see if it's the up- or download which corrupts the file. We had a similar problem here quite a time ago, so I'm not remembering the details anymore. I think it was while transfering files to a Solaris machine and the protocoll we used, patted the files with zeros to match a boundary or something like that. It was really weired (and - of course - I can't remember how we solved it :-/ ).

Hi,
The file is uploaded successfully onto the web application. Its while downloading/saving onto local drive, the file is getting corrupted/cant see the contents of .xls file, which the user is trying to upload & download.
On a UNIX workstation, we can have MS Office.
The same file, we can upload and download successfully on a Windows machine with IE6.
Not getting what is happening in UNIX machine.
Any solution will be very helpful
