JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK

Hi all,
I am creating a simple stand alone struts application.But when I run the program on the server i get the following error. I have installed jre 6 and set the JAVA_HOME to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext in environment variable. Than also get the same error.
Please help me out.


It shows the following error.

root cause

Unable to find a javac compiler;
com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath.
Perhaps JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK

You have pointed JAVA_HOME at the JRE, not the JDK. You need to point it at wherever you installed the JDK.
