While it is easy to publish existing servlets via HttpService is there any portable way how to re-use existing Filter implementations?

We have custom Authorization and Authentization filters that are stacked on each other.

What about Listeners? ServletContext*Listener Session*Listener are user quite often.

Thanks

Yep you can use the WAB (Web Application Bundle or WAR+Bundle) support that was added in the 4.2 enterprise spec release [1] to support all the servlet 2.5 and JSP 2.1 specifications. The eclipse gemini project [2] has support for this specification and I've certainly used filters with this.

There's even a chapter dedicated to web applications and services in our book which should allow you to try this out for your self with some canned examples.

Regards,

Dave
