Hi,

I knew we can access the database by using the Driver Manger in jsp and servlet . At the same time in some other tutorial i seen , they are using DAO. I want to know totally how many ways is there to access the database and making a connection? please refer documentation also for (JSP and Servlet)!!

JDBC
JPA - Hibernate, OpenJPA, etc
Hibernate (non-JPA version)
iBatis
I'm sure there are many others. These are just the first few to come to mind.

You can search on the name of a particular technology to link to the documentation.
