splitting a row.

I need to split the header row into 2 halves..In the upper halve i need one column and in lower halve I need 3 columns..I tried with column group and header row..but I am not gettin properly...can anybody help me please? Thanks in advance.....

You can't do that with basic JSF. However I think the RichFaces extendedDataTable may be able to do it.
