This week, we're delighted to have Jeff Langr & Tim Ottinger helping to answer questions about the new book Agile in a Flash. See this page for a description of the book.

The promotion starts Tuesday, February 22th 2011 and will end on Friday, February 25th 2011.

We'll be selecting four random posters in this forum to win a free copy of the book provided by the publisher, Pragmatic.

Please see the Book Promotion page to ensure your best chances at winning!

Thanks Wouter & Jeanne for the intro and warm welcome! I'm looking forward to answering questions this week. I'm sure Tim is too. I do have a dentist appointment tomorrow morning ("is it safe?"... I hope he has oil of clove, this time there's a good amount of pain), but will be around most of the rest of the day to kick things off.

The publisher's page contains links to four sample cards (excerpts) from the book.

The book is based on our blog site that we created about two years' ago. The blog still acts as a great companion to the cards, which are far more concise and designed for practical purposes (e.g. tacking onto the wall or a monitor, handing to your manager or teammate, or pulling out of your back pocket). So if you buy the (inexpensive) card decks, make sure you visit the blog site to get a little more about what's behind our views and ideas. And if you visit the blog site, you'll definitely want to get the cards.

Pragmatic Programmers was great to work with, by the way!

Thanks to you all. I've already been busy answering questions yesterday and this morning, so I'm feeling very welcome indeed. Thanks for the opportunity to interact.

In addition, if you are in the Chicago, Illinois NW burbs and have a users group meeting or your company is agile and would like to bring in a guest speaker for an evening or brown-bag lunch, let me know. I am making community a real focus of the year.

OK, so the dentist visit was distressing. But the drugs have worn off and I'm in a better mood, so my answers (as already witnessed from a few posts I made just now) will be more concise and coherent today.

The questions so far are very good. Tim and I are greatly enjoying the visit!

Kick it up a notch! What's not working well for you in agile? What do you completely disbelieve? What about agile (or its zealous proponents) really bugs you?

By the way, I've posted a detailed table of contents/index at our blog site.

We'd also like to solicit your help--if you pick up the book (or win a free copy!) and enjoy it, please take just a couple minutes to post something positive at Amazon. Every review we receive goes a long way toward spreading the word.

Thanks,
Jeff

The forums seem to have wound down. Don't hesitate to toss out a last minute question or two! We'll be here for at least a few more hours!
