I am receiving the error below when trying to deploy an .ear file. Everything is compiling fine however when I try to deploy it fails. I am running jboss-5.1.0.GA and jdk1.6.0_20. My application xml is as follows

Hi,

From the error log:

Caused by: org.jboss.xb.binding.JBossXBException: Failed to parse source: Element {http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee}application is not bound as a global element.

Try to remove the xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" entry from your application.xml and re-deploy the application.

I removed to xmlns reference and deployed and also removed all the attributes of the application tag however I am still seeing the following error. Is there different information I should be using here for these files?

From the error, it is still evident that we have a reference for "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" in application.xml.

Try removing all the references of the xmlns element from the application.xml.

It should look like below.

<application>
<display-name>TechConf</display-name>
<description>TechConf J2EE Application</description>
........
