Some thoughts about OCPJP

I have started preparation of OCPJP I am little slower because I am trying to write code (ofcourse using eclipse/NB) and trying to learn by playing this. Here are some concerns and questions.
1. In Kathy's book first chapter covers mostly access rules/enum etc. And at the end there are practice questions about access rules/enum etc. It does not touch anyother aspects. so here it is clearly pertains to specific topic. But I guess when i go 2nd chapter that would be questions on that chapter.
My question is in general, in the acutal exam...Do they test by mixing up different topics? I guess so...When I try to answer my first chapter, most of the time I know the questions pertain to access rules or enums so I can tell bit early this question is on this topic. But it wont happen in exam right??
2.Once I pass the chapter 1, and after a week when I come back I still have trouble answering questions that I did well first time. Do you suggest revisiting chapters often??
Thanks in adv, hope I did not bother you....

Avoid using IDEs when you are learning. And in the exam you will not have an IDE to help you, This is my first hand experience. I lost 2 or 3 questions because I had done lot of development using the IDEs and IDEs used to help me with any syntax errors or method names (though I had used a Text editor like Notepad++ when I had started learning Java).
So my suggestion is- Use some editor like- Notepad++ or Vim or Emacs or Scite. You can configure Scite or Notepad++ to directly compile java code from these applications. (Not sure about other editors)

Exam contains questions from all the objectives and questions always cover more than one objective. In the exam you might not be knowing which objective is covered in which question, but while preparing you know- because they are part of that chapter or objective. So dont try to rely too much on what objective the question covers. Try to understand the underlying principles of the question.

This happens often. Even I faced this problem. But you should keep continuing your preparation. There's always a possibility that you will get questions which cover the chapters you had read before. I would suggest you to keep reading the 2 Minute drills at the end of the chapter. Also there are few Notes in the chapter which you can also record somewhere.
