I just wanted the opinion of you people whether I should join a training institute like niit , aptech n all for j2ee training n certification, or should I attempt to learn these concepts through o,reilly series of j2ee certification books as they have been highly reviewed
,as the quality of trainers at most of these institutes is not upto the mark, plus they charge high fees which is unreasonable.
Please suggest me what should I do.
Thanks

Look, i will not take names. Here is my perspective on coaching classes :
Does a really good, honest coaching class exist ? If it does, there wont be more than 2/3 for every 100 in this world --- a rarity.
These "famous/well-advertised" institutes are, to put it very politely and humbly
BULL**** . They
dont pay enough to their trainers (i know people who work there) and get freshers from colleges, most of who have never made a useful program. The smart and experienced rarely teach in coaching class.
I had once made the mistake of joining a class, they took my money, cancelled lectures frequently and took no interest in teaching, despite my interest in learning.
In India, Coaching classes (especially IT) are present in every lane and corner - see their website or ad's. At a time when good/well paying colleges find it hard to get "good" faculty, i wonder where these classes get their "world-class" trainers from at 15000 bucks pm (yes, see newspaper job ad's regularly).
To modify an old saying "Self-help and websites like these are the best help ! "
good luck.
