Hello friends,
Right now I'm studding for SCJP exam. I'm using SCJP study guide book(Kathy And Bert are the authors). I Saw some users talking about book "K&B".
Is it same book that I'm using?
please advise me what else do I need to do...

Hi Don,
Welcome to JavaRanch...
While you are starting preparation, you will need to go through all the topics in the K&B book.
You can also follow the book by Khalid Mughal...
It would be good if you can mark out the weak areas so you can spend more time on them which will help you to maximize your score.
Lastly do a lot of mock exams. The internet is flooded with websites that offer SCJP or OCPJCP mock exams.

Hello Don...After reading the K&B book, try and retake the evaluation test after each chapter, AND the mock exam that is contained in the CD. It is 'FUNDAMENTAL' to do a lot of mock tests (AND GET GOOD SCORES) before going to take the real exam. I am going to write the exam for the THIRD time, I failed earlier attempts SIMPLY because I did NOT do mock tests, and with my PERSONAL experience mock tests questions 'characteristics' are VERY similar to those of the real exam, although they are 'slightly' more difficult than the real exams, so if you do well in mock tests you are 'nearly' guarranteed to pass. The following are some mock exam tools that can help you solidify your knowledge; ExamLab, CertPal, Ethunware etc...The first 2 are FREE but the last one is NOT, but VERY good and NOT expensive. Yes Don,SCJP Study guide by Kathy And Bert is referred to as K&B book.
