Hi,

Is there any API which can be used to interact with a camera in a mobile device. I was thinking of a mobile application that can extract text from the photos clicked by the device's camera.
Thanks in advance.

Sayantan.

Yes there is. It's not part of the core JME set, however. There's a JSR spec for media interaction on Java Mobile Devices. I'll leave you to your favorite search engine to locate it.

It is important to note, however, that not all mobile devices will include this functionality. Then again, not all devices have cameras in them, either.

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.

I have read about the Mobile Media API (MMAPI) but the problem is that there is only one device that supports MMAPI according to the article I read. Will try to find out about the JSR spec that you mentioned. Thanks for the info

Oops!! MMAPI (JSR 135) is the JSR spec that you mentioned.
