I tried using registering myself on this website using my real name i.e Dhaval Patel but it says this display name is already in use. Does every person need a unique name to join this coderanch  I dont care if any Dhaval Patel joined this forum before, does that mean that any other Dhaval Patel can never join ?? Bad programming i would say  I am afraid my username would be locked because i have used a fancy name dj instead of my real name. Please help

No, quite intentional. If multiple people use the same display name, how would anyone be able to tell them apart?
P.S. A helpful hint: if you have an issue, it'd be better to ask for help with it rather than introducing yourself with insults.

and I'm sorry for my words. I did not mean to insult anyone or this forum. This is a wonderful forum, it has helped me hundreds of times, and I love JavaRanch. Just got frustrated when i was registering. Did not know there were logical reasons behind it. I'm sorry.
