Hi All,

I dont know anything about web services or SOA but as of the moment I need to understand SOA in particular.

I have no idea actually on the two technology but I am currently unsure on how to go about with my learning. Should I buy a web service book first and then
understand it first before I could pick up an SOA book?

My managers goal is for me to understand SOA. Please kindly share me the book that I need to pickuup.

Yes it is! Web services are only some part of SOA but need not be necessary to realize something as SOA.

I'm not sure how far you'd like to understand Web services. But, if your main objective is SOA then just go for it and when you encounter web services context, you can have a quick reference of that. Otherwise, you may be lost in web services world

(OCEEJBD6, SCWCD5, SCDJWS, SCJP1.4 and Oracle SQL 1Z0-051)
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
