How to get audio stream of the call?

How can I get access to the audio stream of incoming/outgoing call? I know how to use BroadcastReceiver to get callback for outgoing or incoming call, but I want to know if it is possible for me to get access to the audio stream of the call? How can i do this?

Hi Manish,

I dont think you will be able to access the call audio stream directly, what you can do is record audio from AudioSource and save it to a file.

Have a look at this code.

  // make sure the directory we plan to store the recording in exists
    File directory = new File(path).getParentFile();
    if (!directory.exists() && !directory.mkdirs()) {
      throw new IOException("Path to file could not be created.");
    }

    // To record incoming and outgoing voice
    recorder.setAudioSource(MediaRecorder.AudioSource.VOICE_CALL);

    // Uncomment to only record incoming voice
    // recorder.setAudioSource(MediaRecorder.AudioSource.VOICE_DOWNLINK);

    // Uncomment following to record only outgoing voice
    // recorder.setAudioSource(MediaRecorder.AudioSource.VOICE_UPLINK);

    recorder.setOutputFormat(MediaRecorder.OutputFormat.THREE_GPP);
    recorder.setAudioEncoder(MediaRecorder.AudioEncoder.AMR_NB);
    recorder.setOutputFile(path);
    recorder.prepare();
    recorder.start();
