Hello there,
My Name is Alain Ekambi, i m a software ingeneer based in Munich germany.
Sometimes ago i started a project called gwt4air (http://code.google.com/p/gwt4air/), which primary goal was to provide a Java API for Adobe AIR through the Google Web Toolkit.
Now i m working on a Java API for Adobe FLEX. The idea behind this it to provide a good alternative for Java Developers to write FLEX applications by providing a Swing line API.
The reation that i get about the project is kind of mixed. Some people are questioning why one should use java to write Flex or AIR Applications.
I can give a lot of reason, but i ll also like to hear what you guys think about my approach.
So the question i would like to ask:
is Java a good language for the flash platform ?
Cheers,
Alain
P.S
A demo of the Java API for Flex can be found here: http://www.gwt4air.appspot.com/
Note that this is a flex application totally written in Java, no AS, no MXML. The application is still in early stage dough, so please expect some errors or some strange behaviors. But i hope you can get an overall idea of my approach.
Any inputs will be very welcome
