Weblogic 10.3 - Datagrid

I'm looking for a quick and efficient way to present a simple search form, take that input and make a JNDI connection to a database, present the data to the user in a jsp table using Weblogic 10.3. I'm thinking of something similar to datagrids. Went down the path of using struts in combination with displaytag, however got a bit in over my head and I really don't need anything that complicated. Didn't know if Weblogic had something similar.

What's funny is I got this done in .net quicker than I got a response. Although still curious about best practices for this in the j2ee world.
